Vote

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Hello, Friends!

We are in the last week of the campaign, and I so appreciate all of your support. I wanted to send you information about the help I will need this week, for the campaign. If you have any time that you can give, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much for your support! Feel free to call me if you have any questions

Ways to Volunteer/Assist with Michelle’s Campaign:

VOTE! Early voting continues this week at Kyle City Hall

o   Monday, 2/8 from 7am to 7pm

o   Tuesday, 2/9 from 8am to 5pm

GET YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO VOTE (who live in the Kyle city limits)!

o   This is such an important election. If you can get your friends and family to vote, please encourage them, drive them or remind them. And, hopefully you can persuade them to cast a vote for me. J

PREPARATION FOR ELECTION DAY (Friday, February 12th)

o   On Friday evening, we will be preparing for election day beginning at 7pm. If you are available to help with that, we’d love to have you assist. The address is 231 Masonwood Drive, in The Trails Subdivision.

o   We will need people to help with addressing final push post cards, determine which volunteers we have lined up to hold signs the next day and other duties.

o   I’ll have some snacks for all!

ELECTION DAY (Saturday, February 13th)

o   Get out Final Push Cards

o   Smile and Hold Signs at City Hall (7am to 7pm)

o   Assist with following up with voters across town

o   Staff the Campaign Headquarters and keep drinks/snacks refreshed

Again, I do appreciate all that you have done to support me in this campaign, and previously. Let me know if you have any questions or have any ideas about how to improve our voter turnout. J

Thanks!

Michelle

5th annual Technology Showcase – Application Deadline 2/24/10

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Teachers and students of all ages and grade levels in HCISD use technology on a daily basis fo content delivery, extension of learning, and enrichment of lessons, but many parents and community members have little opportunity to witness the outcome of the millions of dollars invested in educational technology.  A perception develops, further reinforced by the use of video games and cell phones in the home, that technology is chiefly used for reward, leisure time, and entertainment or socializing.  Often parents don’t realize what  a great benefit their children receive from their frequent exposure to technology in an educational setting.

The “our digITal world”  Showcase will give parents and interested community members the chance to view the outstanding examples of technology usage in HCISD, and give teachers and students the venue to showcase their innovative technology infused lesson plans and student projects.

Our digITal world Instructional Technology, the 5th annual district technology showcase, will be May 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center and the annual logo contest is under way.

Hays CISD students in grades kindergarten through 12 have the opportunity to participate by submitting their own original artwork to represent this year’s theme. The overall logo winner’s artwork will be used in advertising and marketing the showcase. Prizes will be awarded to all winners. Please go to http://wordpress.hayscisd.net/it/tech-showcase/ for information about the contest criteria and to download the submission form.

Meet Michelle at the Kyle Elementary School PTA Membership Meeting

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Kyle Elementary School PTA will be providing candidates an opportunity to  address parents, during the Regular Membership Meeting on Thursday January 28, 2010.  The meeting will be held in the cafeteria at Kyle Elementary School.

After PTA business is concluded each candidate will be given 2 minutes to introduce themselves and tell why they are running for public office.  The order will be determined by drawing of names of those candidates in attendance.  After the meeting is adjourned we will turn the time over for meet and greet, question and answer for the PTA members and the candidates.  We plan on the first 15-20 minutes being PTA business, then 15-20 minutes for Candidate introduction, 20 minutes for refreshments and mingling.

We feel all citizens should have the opportunity to be well informed before voting.  We are very excited to provide this opportunity for our parents and candidates.

Date:  Thursday, January 28, 2010
Location:  Kyle Elementary School
